Following the success of the Agricultural platform of L'Ange-Gardien and in response to the increase in farmland prices, the Municipality of L'Ange-Gardien and the Outaouais region agricultural research and development center (CREDÉTAO) have decided to make an additional 6 acres of land in Champboisé available to the next generation of farmers in the Outaouais region. The work to set up this platform, which has been underway for several months, will soon be completed. This land will be turnkey for new organic market gardeners, with access to a greenhouse, a refrigerator, an irrigation system and certified organic land.
If it is difficult to get into farming today, it is even more difficult if you do not come from a farming background and do not have access to family land. Let's remember that a platform made available to farmers is a turnkey agricultural production space where entrepreneurs starting a land exploitation project can temporarily rent a developed land and have access to different infrastructures and different agricultural equipment. The platforms that we develop thus allow the agricultural entrepreneurs to perfect their production techniques, to develop their management skills and also to develop a customer base.
